Love the brainwave idea and I do agree that overlaying our consciousness with a software layer is probably going to happen. However, isn’t this the beginning of the end? What if there’s a bug in our brain’s software layer. And what happens when we think stuff we shouldn’t? We all know what happens when we’re told “don’t think of a blue giant octopus sitting in an armchair”. What would happen if we thought ‘sell’ my bike when we didn’t actually want to?

And at what point do we stop this evolution? When do we go from human’s to hybrid’s to robots? What happens when our brains software layer is hacked into?

Beginning of the end? I think so – but maybe an evolution we’re unable to halt, or even slow down.
